What is Moulin Rouge?

Moulin Rouge! the Musical is a Broadway adaptation of Baz Luhrmann's revolutionary 2001 film. It's a theatrical celebration that combines spectacular staging with a unique mashup of contemporary pop music. The show transforms the Al Hirschfeld Theatre into the legendary Parisian nightclub, creating an immersive experience that celebrates Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and above all – Love.

What's the story about?

The musical follows Christian, an American writer who arrives in Paris during the Belle Epoque at the turn of the 20th century. He falls in love with Satine, the star performer (or "Sparkling Diamond") of the Moulin Rouge cabaret. Their love story becomes complicated when Satine is promised to the wealthy Duke of Monroth, who offers to save the financially troubled nightclub. The story unfolds as a secret romance amid the vibrant, bohemian world of Montmartre.
