Stranger Things: The First Shadow is Broadway-bound! Based on the hit Netflix show, this production debuts younger versions of beloved characters and expands on the lore behind the monsters and ghouls that plague the small town of Hawkins.

Set 30 years before the show, the stage play focuses on the Creels, a family whose story intertwines closely with the strange happenings in Hawkins. Louis McCartney leads the lineup as Henry Creel. He is joined by Rosie Benton as Virginia Creel, Emmy Award nominee T.R. Knight as Victor Creel, and Alex Breaux as Dr. Brenner.

The production also includes younger versions of fan-favorite characters from the show, including the Wheelers, Joyce Byers (née Maldonado), and Chief Jim Hopper. Alison Jaye plays Joyce Maldonado, Burke Swanson stars as James "Jim" Hopper, and Jamie Martin Mann plays Ted Wheeler.

The rest of the cast includes Ted Koch as Chief Hopper, Juan Carlos as Bob Newby, Andrew Hovelson as Principal Newby, Emmy nominee Gabrielle Nevaeh as Patty Newby, Jr., Ta’Rea Campbell as Patty’s Mom, Robert T. Cunningham as Charles Sinclair, Ayana Cymone as Sue Anderson, Ian Dolley as Walter Henderson, Dora Dolphin as Karen Childress, Logan Gould as Lonny Byers, Shea Grant as Claudia Yount, and Eric Wiegand as Alan Munson.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is based on an original story by Kate Trefry, the Duffer Brothers (who created the television show), and Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child). Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin are slated to co-direct the Broadway production.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow premieres at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway in March 2025.
