The Big Apple ups the ante with these upcoming Broadway 2024-2025 shows

It's hard to say our goodbyes to all the shows closing from the 2023-2024 season but the moody blues don't last long in this business. Broadway is all set to awe and inspire with its incoming season of shows, a mixed bag of highly-anticipated plays and musicals, returning stalwarts, and interesting new takes on classic tales.

"There's no business like show business like no business I know"

The Broadway lineup for the rest of 2024 includes iconic titles like Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Hamilton, and A Beautiful Noise, but the Theater District is also bringing other classics like Beetlejuice, Death Becomes Her, Once Upon a Mattress, and Clue to its stages. Critically acclaimed shows like the psychological thriller Job also head to the Broadway stage this season.

Blending the gap between film and theater, the upcoming Broadway season will see several film and television stars grace the stage. Shakespeare's Othello, starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, Babe starring Marisa Tomei, and Curse of the Starving Class starring Calista Flockhart and Christian Slater are some titles that avid theatergoers should certainly have on their to-do lists for the year.

Additionally, audiences will get to relish in retellings of some of the greatest tales ever told, such as the dramatic play Romeo and Juliet at the Circle in the Square Theatre starring Heartstopper's Kit Connor and West Side Story's Rachel Zegler.

From over the pond and beyond

The season will also see the transfer of several shows following their successful run on West End, including the revival of Sunset Boulevard starring Nicole Scherzinger, Dreamgirls, The Mousetrap, Pretty Woman, Mamma Mia!, and The Devil Wears Prada.

In addition to its theatrical productions, the strip will also see events honoring some of the greatest names in Broadway history. Notably, the Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends tribute will showcase the work of the titular legend and his collaborators, including the late Hal Prince whose work includes the revival of Cabaret currently playing at the August Wilson Theatre.
