Storyline
The play is a satirical observation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint's (Mormon Church’s) ideology and practices. The Book of Mormon follows the journey of two Mormon missionaries as they undertake a mission to share the word of god with the locals of a rural Ugandan community. But they quickly discover that the task is not as simple as they had assumed. The lack of attention from the villagers, who are preoccupied with more important issues like AIDS, famine, female genital mutilation, and persecution from local warlords, challenges the devoted young missionaries.
