Every country’s past seems barmy to the new generation! Horrible Histories: Barmy Britain - Part Five! takes this idea and extrapolates it to make a fun, over-the-top, quirky, albeit educational play. In the deft hands of Director Neal Foster, author Terry Deary’s wildly popular children’s stories called the “Horrible Series’ came to fruition as a stage play. The hilarious illustrations of Deary’s book are what make history palpable to young kids. Foster took a queue from this and adapted the play into a colorful and wacky feast for kids to enjoy, with subtle satirical quips for adults as well.
The play brings to life some of the most influential people in Britain’s History and portrays history like never before. Join King William’s conquest or scale the Tudor scaffold. You can help the Georgians take over England or even break into Buckingham Palace! Between all this mayhem keep your eyes out for the witch of World War Two who is out to unfold serious ruckus. This hilarious reinterpretation of Britain’s barmy history is sure to break you into fits of laughter. This amalgamation of history and theatre makes it a unique and exciting concept.
